Sweet Gifts

Did you know that we ship our classic southern cakes? Well, we do! We've got it down to a science, and these sweet gifts make the perfect surprise to come home to for all of our Maxie B's lovers across the country. 

Trying to decide what you will send to your favorite out of town friends and family members this holiday season? Let us do the work for you and send them one of our baked from scratch southern cakes! We ship our classic 9" round and 6" round bakery cakes in almost all of our flavors. Our sweet gifts arrive in a tightly wrapped package tied up in a pretty bow and can include a special note upon request!

So far we have shipped to forty-three of the fifty United States! We have even shipped to Hawaii! The states in grey indicate that we have never shipped there before (Alaska is the seventh, not pictured).

Help us fill in our map if you know someone special in one of those seven states! Our cafe staff would love to help you place a shipping order for a dear friend or family member. If you would like to send a cake somewhere we have already shipped before we would also love that just as much! We are so honored to be able to share Maxie B's with so many wonderful people all across the country.

Modes of Transportation: We either ship via the United States Postal Service or Fed Ex. When we ship through USPS priority mail there is an estimated shipping arrival of 2-3 days at a cost of $25 plus the price of your cake. Since we're on the East Coast here in North Carolina, closer states generally arrive in two days, and further distances such as California or Washington take the full three days. 

To avoid cakes reaching a weekend standstill mid-delivery, we currently ship USPS orders on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each week excluding any national postal holidays. This way we know that even if we ship your cake out on our last shipping day (Wednesday) we can rest assured that it will arrive to you on or before Friday so that it doesn't sit in transit over the weekend! 

When we ship FedEx pricing varies depending on location, day of the week, etc. They have two options: overnight shipping, and two-day shipping. Depending on the location of where you are shipping to the price changes, but is usually somewhere around $40-$60 (although it can be much less as well as much more depending on the situation).  

For Fed Ex our shipping days are a little more flexible. If you chose this method we can ship on any weekday, even Thursday or Friday. Because these days would require a weekend delivery, the prices are a bit higher than a typical Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday delivery. 

Order Timeline: Since there is about a day or more of prep time that goes into your shipping order, it is always best to stop in or call the shop about three to five days before you would like us to ship your cake out. That way our kitchen staff has enough notice to whip you up a fresh, baked from scratch cake and allow it to chill in the freezer long enough to ship out in tip top stable condition the same day it's made.

Some of our seasonal favorites at the moment include Fresh Apple, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip, Gingerbread with Molasses Cream Cheese, Carrot Cake, and Hummingbird (sweet banana bread), although any of our flavors are wonderful year round! 

Serving: serving our cakes is easy. Simply place the cake back in the freezer for at least three hours once it arrives, and then set it out to allow it to come to room temperature for about seven hours before serving. The rest is easy, just enjoy!
