The story begins...

More often than not, it seems to be the story that once we do a wedding cake for a couple, we end up developing a relationship that will last throughout the years.  Here is a story of just that!

Meet the Bakers! Our first encounter with Candace & JWB was with the planning of a cake for their wedding on June 25, 2011.  The wedding took place at the Old North State Club at Badin Lake and their cake turned out amazing.

Their cake flavors were Pineapple Coconut and Fresh Strawberry Buttercream, and the design of the cake was inspired by the Burberry ties the guys wore.  The teal, taupe, brown and cream shades all paired so well together...unified by an accent of burlap to create a Southern Chic reception.  The topper was so unique and we have passed this idea on to other brides since we saw it come to life back in 2011.

After life settled from the wedding excitement...

...a gender reveal party was planned, for which we were asked to create cupcakes filled with either blue or pink icing to let the world know if these two were going to add a little boy or girl to the Baker household.  They got all of their friends and family together to eat Carrot Cake & Red Velvet cupcakes, which is when they discovered that they were having a little boy!!!

They were really excited!!

Bentley is due on May 28, 2012 and we can't wait to meet him and start designing his birthday cakes for years to come~

To celebrate the arrival of their little man, a Baby-Q was planned where friends and family got together once more to have fun, and help the Bakers to welcome a new little creature.  The Baby-Q was such a great idea and the cake that we were able to make for this party was just divine.....it was the same Fresh Strawberry Buttercream that they had ordered in their wedding cake.

We were able to carry the invitation design onto the cake....I must say, our decorators did such a great job with this and we all thought it was such a great theme for a baby shower celebration.

We wish these two the best as their lives will change in the coming months with the arrival of Bentley.  I am sure there will be more Maxie B's cake for them...and we can't wait!
