We had a bit of a break this past weekend, having only one wedding cake on order. A big change from the normal schedule for weddings here in the shop recently, but we embraced it and a gorgeous cake was created!
This wedding was at The Empire Room in downtown Greensboro on December 3 for Mr. & Mrs. McDonald. Julie and Chad asked us to design a cake that would be elegant, tasty and a showpiece for their reception. I think we achieved that!
Elizabeth Volinski worked on this little lady adorning her outer covering with fondant trim on each tier, handmade pearls that shimmered and cake inside that was out of this world.
Each piece of fondant was tinted, cut and placed by hand by Elizabeth along with a plethora of pearls...and by the end of it all, over 4 hours went into getting this finished product.
You can't tell from the pictures, but these guys chose our signature Red Velvet Cake along with Italian Cream Cake for their guests to enjoy. With the entire cake being iced in a Cream Cheese Icing, you just can't go wrong~
